    Issues with this forum

Am I the only person that seems to have a hard time typing out any messages on this forum? As I type it gets slower, starts to skip letters and pauses sporadically. It's really frustrating, is there a setting I can disable so I can type normally?

you might try cycling through your message editor settings - go to your user settings, select general settings, scroll down to miscellaneous options and click a different message editor interface option.

I switched to the standard editor a while back because it was glitchy for me using IE8 (yeah, yeah, yeah...).

    What browser are you using?

Certain versions of Firefox have memory leaks and will bloat to multiple gigs of memory usage over a week or two. That would certainly cause behavior like you describe, and a restart of the browser fixes quickly. Don't get me started on IE and its issues.

Excellent advice, please try this. Some browsers do not handle the "robustness" of the full editor very well.

Ok, I'll check that out when I get home. I am active on 4 forums and this only happens on the cmra forum.

Ted, I had the same problem and you were able to direct me to a setting that needed to be changed. Unfortunately, I don't remember what that was though....

I think it was as Scott suggested with the editor interface. It worked for a few other people with other random issues.

I have setup and admin 4 forums with this same vBulletin version and I can't explain why this particular installation causes headaches like this. One of these days there will be time to sit down and figure it out.

This is the fix Ted steered me to long ago. The forum apparently defaults (or did at one time) to the full-boat "Enhanced ...WYSIWYG" editor - the change to "Standard" did the trick.

Yep, that seems to have done it here also. Chose "basic editor."
