Thread: What is good carb dip solution?

  1. #11
I took the carbs over to Napalm motors friday morning and picked them up saturday about noon to have them dropped in the ultrasonic cleaner. Know I admit I have never used an ultrasonic cleaner but i was disappointed with the outcome. There was still a considerable carbon build up where biter fly valves are in contact with the body and there was still some residue in the bottom of the float bowls. I could partially wipe them both out with my finger not sure whats up with that.

They don't look too too bad. I'd spray them and mount em up. Let us know how it goes.

Do you mean if you can't get the Yamalube, then use water with a little bit of Simple Green?

Dustin problem is that is how they looked when I took them over there .. I don't have a pre tank pic. They really don't look that different. The only way I was sure they put in the tank is all my jets are discolored..

It was kinda weird when I looked them over I said, "the still have carbon build up in them and they are wet" he took them in the back blew them off. (I dropped them off fri morning 9am and he said they would be ready by noon. I picked them up the next day on sat at noon) and still really wet hmmmm. I could tell he felt bad about something and he just gave me a can of carb cleaner for free to use at home hmm again weird

First, hopefully you dont have carbon build up in your intake tract. Dirt and sediment yes, but not carbon.

Most carbs I have seen and or cleaned do not look like they were soda blasted or polished. But they work as promised.

Yeah if I just saw these pics and didn't know the story I would say that you need to clean the carbs. Good shops are getting harder to come by for sure.

Get you some Amsoil Power Foam, it will clean all that stuff up and more.
