Ok lets not make this light project more difficult than it has to be.

Here is what I'm going to do on my bikes. This light ( see link below ) is $10.00 and has 3 little led bulbs in it. It's 1.5" long by 3/4" high and sticks out about 1/2 an inch. Perfect to be mounted UNDER any tail section. On the newer GSXR 1000, the bike actually has a place to mount it that's just where the bodywork and sub-frame come together so I wont even have to disconnect the light to remove the bodywork. Just drill a little hole for the wire, pull the double sided tape and stick it on.

Most bikes, like mine have the stock wiring harness. What I'm going to do is get the connector off an OEM tail light and wire it to this light so when it's plugged in, the light will turn on when the bike is running but off and not drain the battery when it's not. Since, however it has to be off at all times unless the event has been declared a "wet" event, I'm just going to leave it unplugged and when an event is declared wet, I'll just pull the seat and plug it in. You can also wire it to a toggle switch and hardwire it to a constant power source. Whatever is easiest for your bike.

I know several who have commented are mechanics and will do it a different way, I'm just giving ideas for people who have no idea where to start.

This is my plan unless Walter or any CMRA official says this isn't the type of light or look they're going for.
