    Tire Warmer Recommendation?

My rear tire warmer failed before race 13 on Sunday at TWS, leading to a very embarrassing warm-up lap crash. So now I want to make sure I have a good set. What do you recommend? (Not cheapest, hopefully not most expensive, but a good set at a reasonable price.)

    Thanks in advance.

So far, I've been very pleased with my Moto-D dual temp warmers. They seem solid, are easy to use, and the company is still small enough that their customer support is pretty good. I feel a bit like a goober wearing Moto-D socks and undersuit liner and sporting their warmers, but it's all decent quality for my money.

moto-D ftw. they have an industry leading replacement policy. 1 year no questions warranty regardless of whatever. they also will replace the warmers once free of charge if you screw them up somehow, like in my case, accidentally putting the bike into gear with the warmers on. oops.

    Crap....sorry about that Kyle!

I've been pleased with my Moto D's over the past few years...I would warn you on the dual temps; hi/lo/off...easy to screw up. The single temps will be my next purchase...the duals are easy to screw up if you're not diligent.

Allen, what is it you find confusing? Perhaps they've updated since your purchase. You do need to pay attention on mine, but it's not difficult. Toggle switch of "II O I" or something like that. There is a light indicating if it has power, but it does not indicate anything else, like if the switch is set to On or if it's reached full temp (to my knowledge). Even with this and other "smarter" warmers, I check with my hand. Warmers fail. Kyle would have been far less screwed had he checked

Yikes, didn't know you crashed on the warm up lap for that race. My Woodcraft front failed after a year (right before a race too), so I've switched to the Moto Ds. Not much time on them, but people seem to be pretty positive about them.

And whatever warmers you decide to get, make it a habit to put your ungloved hands on the tires when you take the warmers off so you know if they've actually heated up or not.

I was not aware of that. My Moto-D rear recently started leaving huge cold spots on the tire, and I already bought replacements. I'll shoot them a line, though.

Thanks for the recommendations. I'm running MotoD's and will go back to them.

It was truly a stupid error on my part. But in my defense, I didn't check the tire pressure or even put my hands under the warmer (as I normally do) because some older guy started talking to me as they were calling the race and kept talking even after I (a little rudely) just walked away from him at 3rd call. I told him about 6 times that they were calling my race and I had to go, but he just kept on explaining how he could make my CBR250 faster. I even put in my earplugs and put on my helmet and gloves while he was talking. I should have just been rude and walked away after 1st call. My mistake. (If I were a more competitive rider, I would have thought another rider sent him over just to screw up my pre-race routine.)

And now for an ignorant question - What is the low temp setting for? I've never used it on my existing MotoD's.

Any thoughts on Vortex warmers? I haven't seen them much at the track.
