Thread: Tire Warmer Recommendation?

    I have been using the warmers from SVRacingParts.com with no issues. Full digital warmers with 3 settings (Rain/Standby at 155 or Race at 178 or Cold/Windy Day / Endurance Race at 194) for $200 (+ $20 shipping).

    I had dmp? Tire warmers or was it dmt? I think that's a hallucinogenic drug so I think it was dmp. Anyway they only worked for like a year and stopped working. I sent the one that wasn't working back to them, they said they couldn't fix it so they offered a warmer half off or something.

    I just bought brand new chicken hawks I, those have been working really well for me. I got the ones with the low med high switch. I feel like the ones with the temp gauge are just an extra thing that can break.

    I was looking at the Chickenhawks - the single temp pro line heats to 203 degrees. That seems excessively hot to me. Any thoughts?

    we talked with the vortex guys at the AIM convention 2 years back when they first release them.. they are made in the same factory as chicken hawks. seen good reviews on them.

    the duel temps are actually quit nice for us Texas weather guys. a perfect example to use them would have been at TWS this last weekend when it ws 43 in the morning. i use the low setting to get my pressures more close to what they would be on a cold track.. i used a pyrometer this weekend and during the 8am practice sunday core rubber tire temps never got over 100 until the track surface went over 60 which didnt take till about 10pm. It took one of our guys running a sub 2 minute lap around 11 to get tire temps over 160..so a warmer set on high gets to around 185... you set pressures.. go ride.. and they actually drop because of the cold. with low setting it wont drop as much. Mine go on high once we have sun on the track or its in the high 50's and i know my pressures wont change drastically by the time the start flag drops.

    I've been using Chicken Hawk since late 2013 and I've had absolutely zero complaints. They have worked flawlessly. Pole Position (3 temp) version.

    When the track temp is over 110 (most of the year for us). I like to run the warmers on a higher setting as it puts the tire closer to the working temp and thus cuts down on the amount of heat gained from the warmers, to the track. Obviously, its nice to be able to turn them down on cooler weekends, thus why I like the adjustable warmers.

    There's a hack for that, but I'm not sure there's enough demand to warrant it. It was conceptualized to combat post boosting, which isn't a problem here.
