The problem with a boot that is too rigid rigid is that it transfers all of it to you knee. That's why I went with A*s over sidi, also didn't like all the external parts that could possibly get caught on a peg or something. Couple low sides and only one hand injury. Love the boots.

A* Supertech R's here. I had a decent crash at MSRH last year and had no foot/ankle issues. The internal ankle brace system seems to work really well and A*s offers plenty of replacement parts for them.

I'm very late to this. But look into the Puma 1000 race boots. V1 thru V4 with their patented ghost doctor technology.
My V1s feels indestructible. I've had them over 5 years and they simply won't die.

Only drawback.
They're heavy, pricey and like all Puma and Sidi, fit narrow as fuk.
