Thread: Wheelie question

Re: Wheelie question

Denee, the school is more hands on than classroom. The bike is a 3 cylinder and the wheelie device is taped into the fuel system. At a desired level of wheelie the fuel will cut to 1 cylinder. The device also operates the rear brake when needed.

You will be given instruction in the morning before you get on the bike. The rest of the day you will alternate riding between the other students. Once on the bike your form and technique will be closely critiqued and certain "problem" areas will be addressed.

All of the students come away knowing how to wheelie. Some progress more than others but they all learn how to wheelie. The students also gain confidence, control and comfort having the front wheel up.

I met Doug Domokos when I was a kid. He was at a outdoor motocross national. My brother introduced me to him. That was what he told me was to wheelie uphill, I remember that now.
He rode around the entire track (all but a big uphill, his bike would spin out) on the back wheel.
That was the coolest thing I had ever seen.

Gabe, now I understand! I can respect that and the price they're asking! I guess right now a set of tire warmers take precedence over doing wheelies!
Thanks again!

We have quite a few stunters that come in our shop. I like to freak them out with a stunt I call the pushy. You lock the front wheel and accelerate and smoke the front tire while it is being pushed across the aspalt.

You have to be willing to let the front wheel
get close to the lock as you counter the other direction.

Get a two stroke dirt bike. When it comes on the pipe, it will wheelie for you. Then, you just have to learn to keep it up at the balance point with throttle control and cover the rear brake for emergency exits.
