I think the absolute BEST way to learn is the kart tracks and minis. You can run the big tracks, too, with CMRA. You WILL learn to carry cornerspeed on a 7 horsepower mini, I gaurantee it, LOL! It's cheaper, offers the most practice and track time, lower speed get offs when they DO happen, best way to go from all angles. Of course, I started big and worked backwards to figure out how much fun it was.

Yeah, Jack turned me to the "mini" side and I wish I started with one. Many of the CMRA/AMA stars of past and present rode/ride minis. Like Jack said... You'll never understand corner speed until you ride a mini. Even the rider in last place (in a mini race) is on the very edge of traction. You just can't afford to do that on a big bike. Plus you'll hone your 2-stroke tuning skills too.

Mini's are some serious fun... we just need to even the class against all the kids... I think the 300# weight limit is a good starting point...

    lol...

I can't remember who I heard say it but,

" If your not on the brakes or on the gas..... You're wasting time..."

two words: TRACK TIME! i spent the first 3 years of my roadracing career doing endurance. mainly cause i didn't have my own bike, but the track time is the best. try to get hooked up with a team or start one yourself.
