It was cold! You may think it has been covered in adequate detail but I assure that however many times the word "cold" is used to describe this past Sunday it would not be enough. It was cold!
I overheard someone once state that the SV ranks offer "Gentleman's racing". Complete and utter BS! I have never in my life had as many brief, but frighteningly intense conversations with our maker, as I did chasing that lead pack in LW twins and D superbike. Chris, Craig, Dane, Zac and the others - I have still yet to decide if you are incredibly talented or just plain nuts!
Thanks must be mentioned to:
1) Cornerworkers you folks must have been miserable but thank you for enduring. I would have waved but I could not move my hand from the clip on.
2) CMRA staff and volunteers especially to ol' Grumpy Gus Walter Walker for shortening the races to 5 laps.
3) Renate McBain and Allison McMaster (soon to be the future Mrs. SupaPro Spradling and anyone whom I have overlooked who went out of their way to make people comfortable this weekend.
4) Motorcycles Unlimited for all the help! The Race Tech'd front forks performed remarkeably well in the most adverse of conditions.
5) South Central Race Center - If tire slingin' were an art, J-Hutch (as his peeps call him)would be picasso.
6)To everyone in my "extended family" that make this so much more than just racing.
Thank you!
