Would it be less confusing to call it "Sport" rules instead of Supersport?

Supersport seems too close to Superstock.
Might be easily confused in conversations about the classes (verbal & written)
    Abbreiations could be SB,SS,& SP

Maybe I'm overthinking it.......or maybe it's just me getting old with failing sight & hearing

WERA uses "supersport," iirc. Not sure the difference.

For anyone who missed the first page: Grom Challenge is now official. Supersport rules. No clipons, no bodywork. All oem body panels must remain in place.

Davis Rod & Cycle will be sponsoring this class. But with a twist. Awards will be random and probably completely irrelevant. And may or may not be give to the winner or even a podium finisher. Awards will however be super awesome.

I wrote up a quick list to clarify what I think the Grom Challenge should be like because I don't think standard supersport/stock rules really apply. It needs to stay a cheap as possible. That way someone with a completely stock Grom can show up and have a chance to do well.

Here's what I've got so far, I'll keep adding as I think of things.

    Things that may be removed:

    -Rear fender/license plate mount
    -Horn
    -Blinkers
    -Mirrors
    -Passenger pegs

Things that ARE allowed. If a modification isn't mentioned, it is NOT allowed.

    -Any DOT tires are allowed.

-Aftermarket exhaust, or modifications to stock exhaust

-Air box may be modified or removed and replaced with a clamp on air filter. If using a clamp on filter a brace must be added to keep the bodywork from flapping.

-Throttle body may be turned around 180 degrees from stock.

-Foot pegs may be replaced with aftermarket pegs. Stock rear sets must remain.

-Aftermarket handlebars will be allowed as long as they use the stock clamp locations (1"7/8 handlebars are allowed as long as the stock riser mounting location is used). NO clip ons, NO clubman style bars, NO broomstick bars.

-Braided steel brake lines are allowed.

    -Aftermarket brake pads are allowed.

    -Aftermarket brake/clutch levers are allowed.

    -Aftermarket shocks are allowed.

-Preload spacers in the forks or stiffer fork springs are allowed.

-Chain and sprocket upgrades are allowed. Any aftermarket sprockets must be stock tooth count.

    Safety wire list:

    -Front brake caliper bolts
    -Front axle
    -Rear axle
    -Oil filler cap
    -Oil drain plug

    Tape list:

-Headlight taped with your sprint number displayed (side number plates not required)
    -Tail light taped

What about a belly pan on the Grom?

No belly pan required. Show up and race your pitbike.
