Ask me sometime. (seriously! MSRH?) I don't mind sharing with you my perspective on it at all. And, I'll be really candid.

I'm a total outsider to the question. I don't have and association with LSTD (I teach for RideSmart, actually), and I was elected to the BoD just a bit over a year ago by a mere plurality -- the lowest vote-getter to make the cut, in fact.

My answer might not satisfy you, but it will be the honest truth.

I find Jim to be brutally honest, most of the time.

I'm offended by you thinking others were offended. Jesus man, you don't speak for me or the masses!

Yes. Can you show me where he (or any of the candidates) promised to change policy or enact a system before they were voted in?

Now, is Ted an asset with technological systems? Absolutely. Does his real job and expertise contribute to skills that the CMRA can exploit? I'm sure. All of the candidates do and all of them were elected for those reasons.

Usually this effort does not work and is a wasted vote. Either way the outcome is the same. Your point about majority vote is absurdly invalid.
I'm baffled by this logic so it must be over my head?
Do you really believe that there is some secret society that elects the BoD members in the CMRA and that the actual number of votes is a ghost figure for illusion?
I could go with that theory. I'm sure it's real.
So these theoretical numbers that show that 3 candidates received (almost the same number) more votes than any of the other candidates (a significant difference in number of votes) isn't a majority? I'd sooner buy the Illuminati Exposed version of your theory than the latter.

His offer was met with EXTREME hostility.
I didn't accuse anyone in particular of any hostility. But if you feel that it was, well, I can't control your thoughts (or maybe I can…). As far as Greg meeting hostility? I know Greg. I like Greg, a lot in fact. He's a stand up dude and fun to be around. I doubt he's seeing it the same way you are, but I guess perception is reality.

And while I am grateful for those who do try to better the club, I am aware that this is an obligation they chose to take on. No pity from me.
Wait, I thought the "inner circle" dictated who gets elected? I'm confused now.
As far as your analogy and pity, well, I don't see any BoD members shirking any responsibility; maybe you can enlighten us all and tell us what obligations one of them is not fulfilling?

You're right on the last point but not in the way you think you are. See, the "silent majority" is the group of folks that don't ever log on to message boards like this and the countless others who race or are club members. The folks that may cruise the message board here for real information and laugh at these threads but never post. While the internet message board "communities" may see all kinds of traffic and post counts when something like this comes up for instance, it ends up being the same 5 people who are participating. For those 5 people, there are another few hundred that don't even look this way or care about it. But they do know the folks they're voting for and the issues at hand because they race with them and are friends with them. Your "silent majority" is actually the "vocal minority".

Well, I've wasted enough time with this thread and actually need to finish what I was supposed to do today. Mr Millsap, and whomever else, if you're at Houston I'll have a cold beer for you Come see me at the HPC garage. We might even have some food too.
