John, I haven't raced for the top of a race yet... just racing to get out of the bottom! (A third in F40LW @ ECR was purely by mistake... and not a lot of old farts racing lightweight bikes...)

I do... just haven't learned what it takes to high side yet... low sides are easy, keep it pinned and try to turn a corner too tight ... lol (mental note.. use ALL of the track when needed!)

I high sided mine on the kart track in Katy. It was pretty spectacular.

The corner was second gear, knee down and WFO on a Grom. Got off line a little when there was light drizzle falling from the sky. That was that.

mine was not a high side per se, but, apparently, my grom did 2 full rotations in the air...

I have spun up the rear on my Grom several times on the kart track and also entering the rattlesnake this weekend...

Ride it like you stole it!

Seriously though, none of us is getting serious power with our modest mods. Rider weight is the biggest factor, and there is discussion of fair ways to even this out. But, because corner speed (and keeping it pinned) is key, I reckon the most important modifications are suspension and tires.
