No hills. It might take you a while to get to the other side.

What do you mean "MAY"? I remember coming around the final turn @ ECR, then losing speed going up the straight-away! ya, hills + fat guy + but low mileage Grom = slowness redefined!

Hint: it's not the low miles.

Hey, I'm under 250 now! (ok, still in the high 240's, but working on it!)

I was looking at a grom today is there any easy way to switch it to gp shift? What are the best exhausts?

The Akrapovic system is about to come out and I would venture to say it will be one of the best. You can switch to GP shift, but some welding is involved since you can't change rear sets in this CMRA class. Maybe one day when we have a Superbike Grom class!

Do brake pads and fluid need to be changed? I assume no but don't want my brakes to fail, even at a ludicrous 45mph.

Nope. Everyone on the grid has been using stock brake pads so far. A few of us will have Vesrah pads at TWS for testing purposes, but I don't know how much testing they'll get there because it's almost completely wide open around there.

A lot of us have stainless steel brake lines and they help quite a bit. I've just been using standard DOT4 brake fluid and it's been just fine.

No. I ran stock, and have only changed fluid because I wanted pretty yellow coated ss lines. Some of us will be testing some new Vesrah pads because Mitch Williams has been in touch with Vesrah and they are developing some fancy pads for us, but the stock have been fine for me so far. Not a safety issue, but if you want to run with the AMA dudes, I think Mitch's Vesrah pads will be one tool in the box.

As far as pipes, most are running M4 because M4 is the company with the closest ties to CMRA. I love M4 too, but got the Yoshimura carbon because it is really pretty, and my Grom is also my street bike. Give Ryan at 481 Motos a buzz if you want to upgrade, because he is the Gromfather.
