    BoD Memeber Requirements

I've always forgot to ask this so I'll post it before I forget. After I read the by-laws I wondered why 2 BoD members can't live together, or be related by blood or marriage? It seems to be a common ?requirement? in an lot of places but most of the times it just seems trivial. Staff/Officials don't have this requirement, what makes the directors held to a different standard?

I believe the idea is so that you don't get a family taking over the club by several getting on the BOD and voting as one. Employees don't vote so doesn't apply.

Doesn't staff make decisions on race weekends?

Well thinking about it I don't really see couples working together on the same thing; Registration, tech, grid, etc. So I guess that mitigates the concerns.

Dennis, are you asking about the BoD requirements or employee requirements? I assume the company you work for has a BoD. I also assume the company you work for has employees. I also think its safe to assume those employees are entrusted to make decisions through the course of their job. Why should the CMRA be any different?

I ASKED ABOUT THE bOd BECAUSE I WANTED TO KNOW. AFTER tY AND dAVID GAVE ME AN ANSWER i ASKED ABOUT THE EMPLOYEE REQUIREMENTS BECAUSE THEY MAKE DECISIONS ASLO, JUST LIKE THE bOd. ACTUALLY i THINK THEY MAKE all DECISION ON RAVE DAY SO THAT WOULD BE A BIG PROBLME IF A FAMILY COMBO JUST DOESN'T LIKE SOMEONE AND FAILS THEM AT TECH OR SCREWS UP THEIR REGISTRATION OR GRIDS. tHEN, AFTER A MINUTE OF THOUGHT i CAME TO MY OWN CONCLUSION, WHICH i ALREADY POSTED

Didn't realize the caps, but to answer the other part of your question. Yes we have family working together, also at any job I think I've had to include the Marine Corps. However they were not allowed to supervise each other. On The BoD unless one held the V or VP position maybe. than its not a supervisory position over one another they are equals on the board, hence my question.

If you really think anyone within the CMRA would do any of those things you listed, I question why you even race with the CMRA. Sounds like you don't trust anyone on the Board or who works race days.

I only had one question, so not sure where you think I asked about family members working together at the many places you've worked.
