Since we're pipe dreaming in here, obviously, I like the idea of a one off event somewhere we've not been. Like, a consolation prize for losing tws?
    Ecr sucks.
    Harris hill is a joke.

    Heartland park would be cool
    Colorado?
    Nola?
    Mexico?
    Chuckwalla?

I am racing an SV at High Plains Raceway (MRA) at the end of the month. Track looks fun.

I'm a member at Harris Hill, it just wouldn't work :( It just doesn't have the amenities to accommodate CMRA. I wish it did......it's close by and I know the track so well!!! ;)

    Less amenities than Oak Hill?

Someone said it earlier, imagine trying to get everyone that shows up for a race day into an area smaller than the skid pad at Cresson. That is also split across two levels, so not one continuous patch of asphalt. It can get kind-of packed on a busy member day, so it's almost comical trying to image what the CMRA would look like there. I really wish that it was, but it's just not feasible. Again, not to mention that the owner/members of the track most likely wouldn't want us there to begin with. There is no benefit to the track if you really think about it.

Alonzo, to accommodate your idea without kyboshing (sp?) those of us who don't endurance or small bike (read: have any Saturday activity at track) but have specified days off from work, how about missed endurance teams add either Thusday or Monday for their missed TWS activities, that's not a practice day option for a lot of us as suggested....otherwise, those of us who practice Fridays, sprint Sundays would both add another work day missed plus 2 days between practice and Sunday sprints, or have to skip practice....and seeing how this is an "endurance issue" then let the extra day(s) be a stretch for them vs EVERYBODY having to stretch. Hope this makes sense as well as adds additional option (Monday vs Thursday)?

Fox, my idea was based solely on the fact that the TWS date would go away completely and not trying to find a fill in for that weekend. If we went forward with the idea, then you would no longer have to take that Friday off, thus giving you a PTO day that wasn't used and could be transferred to the four day weekend. It's far enough down the road that anyone could request a change in days off. And for the Thursday through Sunday activities, we could throw in some one off big bike sprints before the mini round and have the mini sprints before the big bike round. Kind of like WERA does on their national weekends.

Because I'm a visual person, here's what I would imagine a schedule could look like.

    Thursday
    -regular practice schedule

    Friday
-regular Saturday morning sprints (or shootout sprints)
    -6 hour endurance

    Saturday
-Shootout sprints (or regular Saturday morning sprints)
    -6 hour endurance

    Sunday
    -regular sprint schedule

Yeah, that's what I pictured, it isn't exchange of PTO, it's an extra work day in a row, I was suggesting F-S stays same, Monday morning is endurance practice and 6 hr endurance race...only folks that stay extra half day, or come up late Sunday are those who missed endurance rd at TWS...that way only peeps that add extra day off is endurance teams, not everybody. I can say I understand what your wanting, but I'm also hearing Walter say no chance of a Thursday, so I'm offering a solution that may have traction for you.

maybe it's already been discussed, but what about trying the same schedule Alonzo proposes for Houston, at Hallett..... and not worrying about TWS and if Houston will be race-able...and everyone can take off the season early! Probably doesn't work well for the CMRA books, but I'm game!
Does that work out right....you'd get all BBE and ULWE rounds in and call it a double points weekend for sprints. Am I missing anyone(racing) here?
