It's essentially just a measure of how many people you finished in front of. We can looks at yours for a couple examples

There were 17 people in the race, you finished 6th so the formula is

1- (6 (your place)/ (17 (total people)) = your index number for that race.

1 -(6/17) = 0.647

0.9090909 1 11 Event 3 ***
1-(1/11) = 0.909

Then it just adds those all up and divides by the total number of races (yours is 42, you can see it down at the bottom) to give your overall rider index.
