    1990 FZR 400 1WG Barn Find Rebuild

Just seeing if any one recognizes this bike / knows who the original owner was to see if I can find the original paper work.

Anyways I bought this bike about 2 years ago, a buddy of mine saw this bike in a run down corrugated metal shed out in a horse pastor, a true barn find. He invited me to come out and take a look at it since he knew I was into old bike as well as racing and it had both characteristics it was an older bike and had yellow plates. Ended up getting out there and sure enough It was an old race bike! not till later did I realize how cool of a race bike it was. That same friend and a few people were renting the property at the time so I found out who the owner of the property was and contacted them about purchasing the bike. Turned out he was a former world super bike racer (Kris Wilson) who had got the bike with plans to race it again but it had been forgotten. Ended up buying the bike from him still not knowing anything about the bike... I was just drawn to it.
Got it home and did some research and found out it was a 1990 FZR 400 Model 1WG which had 28,728miles on it. It was nice knowing a bit more about the bike and how they are some what rare and were most famous for their handling and their track capabilities as well as their peppy engines..... that eat intake valves.
So the tear down began, things I found: Mud dubbors nest every where, dead scorpions, lots of dust and a bit of rust. Seized brakes calipers, bent fairing stay, almost non existent fork seals and so much gunk and grim you would not believe (look through the photos) and a custom made seat which was nice.
My first idea was TRACK BIKE!! but I soon realized I would rather have a café racer track bike... so I change the plan to a full restore then put it up for sell, all in order to fund the café racer dream. If anyone is interested in it or know some one who might be please let me know

Video From when I went to check it out for the first time (just been pulled from the shed)

What have I been doing with the bike over the last few years:
Here's a link to the photo album I made that has most of the rebuild pics:
    http://s39.photobucket.com/user/bigj...?sort=6&page=1

-Cleaned the bike in general (had dirt sand grime and mud-dobbers nest all in it)
-Rebuilt motor: New, cylinder, pistons, Rings, Complete Head with brand new intake valves (It had no compression at all and was a night mare cause after I put in the new head with new intake valves, pistons, rings and cylinder it still read 60psi all the way across...i lost all hope for awhile and was going to part it out...but I had a friend double check and do a leak down test and it had no air leaks so I figured strap everything on and see if it will fire?? and WAH LA!! )
-All new rubber seals and paper gaskets (The Entire Engine)
-Unseized and rebuilt all brake calipers
    -Fixed the bent fairing stay
-Installed new throttle and choke cables
    -Added New Brake pads
    -Added steel brake lines
    -Added New Brake reservoir/piston
    -Added new brake fluid
    -Cleaned and synced carburetors
    -Cleaned and re-oiled K&N Filter
-Cleaned and flushed entire cooling system
    -New Sparkplugs
    -New Battery
    -New Fuel pump
-Empty Varnished gas and De-Rust the gas tank
    -Rebuilt fuel petcock
    -New cooling fan switch
    -New chain
-New front blinkers(need help with wiring/ flasher relay problems)
-de-rust and paint exhaust with black heat paint
    -Cleaned/ polished fork tubes
-New fork oil seals and fresh oil
-Once running, ran some sea foam through the fuel and oil (made the bike idle better and Helped release the seized clutch, followed by another oil change)

How it sits now...RUNNING!! that D&D exhaust it LOUD but AWESOME

    Things to do:

    -Install new fan thermo switch
    -Purchase rear blinkers
-Find where to get factory decals redone and in stall
-repair and paint replacement mid and lower fairings (coming in the mail soon)
-Find mounting bolts for the fairings
-Figure out problem with front blinkers(cant tell if its the left controls or the flasher relay...)
-Purchase right rear passenger peg (over exhaust)
    -Purchase new wheel bearings
    -Grips

If any one can help with the to do list please send me a PM or leave a comment

Thought you sold it? Looks like it needs some bodywork.
